Animecon XI 12.7-13.7.2014 Kuopio

This was actually the first time I managed to get a ticket to the anime concert and it was amazing! No wonder it is always sold out! Even though I didn't recognize half of the animes that were on the playlist! If they only would've played a half an hour longer that would have been even greater. But hey, I take what I can get. Such a shame I've missed the concerts of the two previous years. My favorite part of the concert was actually the encore song "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas

I've heard some people complaining about it being played since its western animation and not anime. So what? just listen to the amazing music that is being played for you!

Let's see if my playlist works...

This time I didn't go on a total shopping spree. I only sought out to buy one affordable yet a cool looking figure. In the end it came down to two Brook from One Piece figurines to choose between (I'm a sucker for skeletons). Brook before time skip or Brook after the time skip figure. I chose before time skip Brook because I like that look much better than the whole Soul King-thing he has going on now (and it was 7 euros cheaper). I couldn't be happier. ^_^

Star Wars coloring book

You look just the way I feel

I really need to stop going to flea markets. Seriously, everything I've blogged so far has been about my findings at various flea markets. It wasn't supposed to be this way!

Oh well...
I found these all kinds of coloring books at a section in the market where they actually sell brand new books, paperbacks and comics. I never looked at the kid's selection too carefully but this time I did. Oh man, was I surprised!! At first glance I just saw a corner of a gray cover on the lower shelf, at second glance I saw the words "Dark side" (Pimeä puoli) and a hint of a black and red jaw.

SOLD!!!

It has Darth friggin Maul on the cover. I didn't even need to see the rest  before I knew I wanted it. Luckily the inside was just as good as the outside. What really grinds my gears is that these SW books were at the bottom of the pile of coloring books, which probably means that they have been there the whole time. I don't even want to know how many times I have walked passed them before. That just hurts.

Back cover (left), front cover (right)

"If you only knew the power of the Dark side."

I really want to color some of the pictures in the book. Just like back in the good old days, although nowadays I would use a computer instead of crayons and try to stay inside the lines.

Snork & Snorkmaiden

Found these at a flea market in Kuopio. First I wondered what's the deal with Snorkmaiden, its so much smaller than the other one, the paint job is not very good and what is that gap for? Obviously there had to be some piece missing. True that, after searching for a short while I came across this: curly straws with moomin decorations http://oi61.tinypic.com/2rhr6ll.jpg Mystery solved!
But I thought that the toy looked a little silly without holding anything and I wasn't going to put a new straw for it to hold, so I put the good ol' Lego ax to some use. Now she look like a real psychopath.

Godzilla!!

Its nothing fancy, but I'd like to share my speed painting that I did the morning after I went to see the new Godzilla (2014) movie.

All hail Paint!

I was a little bit dissappointed that none of the soldiers (as far as I could tell) crashed on Godzillas back or at least a few of them would be swatted like a couple of flies. I was so sure that would happen! I was wrong. u_u

Few weeks later, at a flea market I found something that was titled as "lizzard" (lisko) and cost only 0,70 euros! And thus I found my very first Godzilla figure/toy!

At the base of the tail it reads:
©1994 TOHO CO.LTD.
©1994 TRENDMASTERS INC.

1994 eh?  I quickly googled it  and found out about this:

Awesome, but it was never made. With the power of deduction, this lizzard belongs to the movie Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (ゴジラvsスペースゴジラ Gojira tai SupēsuGojira).

I believe it belongs specifically to this following line of toys:
